Why do I use copper for my handmade jewellery?

At my jewellery studio, I’m always on the lookout for ways to create stunning pieces that make a positive impact on the world around us. That's why I’m proud to use recycled copper in my handmade jewellery designs. Not only is copper a beautiful metal that looks great against all skin tones, but it also offers a host of health benefits and supports the quantum shift towards sustainable fashion.

One of the most significant advantages of using recycled copper is that it's an eco-friendly choice. By using recycled materials, I’m able to turn trash into treasure and support a circular economy. It's a small but essential step towards a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.

But that's not the only reason I love working with copper. Compared to silver or gold, copper is also relatively inexpensive to source, which means I can create high-quality jewellery with a higher profit margin. And that extra income allows me to invest even more into my wildlife rehabilitation efforts. It's a win-win-win for my small business, the planet and the little critters that come into care.

Of course, there's no denying that copper is also a beautiful metal to work with. It’s warm, reddish-brown tone adds a touch of elegance to any piece of jewellery. And because copper is a malleable material, I can create intricate designs and unique textures that are truly one-of-a-kind.

But there's more to copper than just its beauty. Wearing copper jewellery also offers numerous health benefits. For centuries, copper has been used for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It's believed to help relieve joint pain, improve circulation, and promote healing. While I don't make any medical claims, I love the idea that our jewellery might be doing some good for my customers' health!

At the end of the day, using recycled copper in my handmade jewellery allows me to create beautiful pieces while also supporting sustainable fashion and wildlife rehabilitation efforts. It's an eco-friendly, affordable, and versatile choice that looks great and offers health benefits. So, the next time you're in the market for a new piece of jewellery, consider supporting my cause!
